Program Director/Varsity Coach

Patty Perkinson grew up on the soccer fields of Southern California before turning to club soccer with FRAM Club Soccer as a 12-year-old.
Born in Palos Verdes, California, Perkinson graduated from Miraleste High School where she participated in several individual and team sports, in addition to being a four-year starter on the varsity soccer team.
Upon graduation, she earned a full athletic scholarship to play soccer at San Diego State University, where she was a member of the school’s award winning team for four years. She was also selected to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the U.S. Women’s National Team.
A physical education instructor with the Manhattan Beach Unified School District for 27 years, this year will be Perkinson’s 22nd season as Mira Costa High School’s Varsity Coach.

Amanda Cross
Varsity Coach

This is Amanda’s 11th year coaching at Mira Costa High School. She graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2004 with a degree in Kinesiology. While attending USC she was a four year member of the Women’s Rowing Team.
Amanda is also a Mira Costa graduate. At Costa she was a four year member of both the soccer and softball teams. She played for the Manhattan Beach Hurricanes and the Santa Monica United soccer clubs.
Currently Amanda is substitute teaching in the Manhattan Beach School District and looking to attend graduate school in the near future. She also coaches the Mira Costa Girls Varsity Soccer team with Patty Perkinson.

Tim Cooper

Team Trainer

Tim returns for his 26th year as a head trainer for all sports at Mira Costa. He provides the best in healthcare and injury rehabilitation. He serves as strength coach, sports psychologist, confidant and good friend and adviser to our athletes. Tim has been instrumental to the success of our program and we are fortunate to have his expertise to help educate our young athletes.
